Nephews of Mine Layout

Hello!  Happy Tuesday!!!  I'm popping in to share another layout I had time to squeeze in this month of my two nephews...

These two little men are a part of my every day life as I have watched them since they were each just babies.  I love them so much and love that my two have built in best friends! :)

I created this layout with lots of various Amy Tan Collections.  I had recently gotten a few sheets of her new collection and just had a blast mixing and matching with things I already had in my stash from the past! There was no real plan in mind when I started this layout, I just kind of trimmed layered and had fun!

I am adding this to the Clique Kits April Anything Goes Challenge
Paper Issues: Chalk One Up Your Own Style Challenge : since I used no sketches or anything for this layout it is all me!  It is bright and happy and fun... all my style!

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

TGIF, TGIF, TGIF!!!! Today you will find this card here and on the SweetStamps.com Blog, and I am taking us all back to the basics of cardmaking.  Now when I say basics I wants to remind you that the basics are beautiful not boring.  Sometimes I get so wrapped up in trying new techniques and adding so many embellishments that I lose site of why I really love cardmaking... for the stamping.  So I have created this little beauty with nothing but some good ol stamps, ink, markers and foam adhesive...

Hey Friend! Layout

Hi!  Today I'm popping in to share this fun and bright layout I've created with one of the newer DCWV Stacks called Chic Chat... this stack can be found now at Michaels...

I love how bright and fun this collection is, not to mention the canvas paper, hello yummy!  I love my DCWV stacks because they do all the work for you when it comes to mixing and matching, and with the canvas paper I also don't have try and think about texture either!  With some fussy cutting and creative die cutting I was able to create my own embellishments out of paper.

Supplies Used:

Groovy baby...

Oh I just LOVE the new Alley Way Stamp Feeling Groovy Stamp Set... it is soooo fun to play with!  And as soon as I saw this van image I had to play...

So fun, right?!  Best part about this card? It's one layer baby!!! (well if you don't count the paper piecing that is!) I started this card by stamping the van in the center of my cardbase.  I then masked it off and went covered the front of the card with a stencil and distress inks.  Next I removed the mask, colored various areas with Copics, paper peiced a floral design.  Stamped the sentiment in the corner from the Freebie Stamp Set of the Month, Far Out, with every $40 spent, and added an enamel dot in the center! :)

I am entering this into the following challenges:
Party Time Tuesdays: Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp: In the Middle ( my little van is right in the middle of one groovy background hehehe!)
Virginia's View: Cards with Dimension/Layers - I actually have 3 layers on this one layer of sorts card (confusing, right?!) I have a stencil background, a stamped image and some paper piecing on top!

Your Kindness...

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Today I'm popping in to share a card I've created for several challenges...

The biggest inspiration for this card was this month's Altenew Challenge Photo:

I drew my inspiration from the shapes and colors in the photo and just let things come together!  I started by mixing various distress inks on watercolored paper, blended with water and a paint brush and then splattered with gold spray mist.  Finally I stamped my floral and leaf images randomly on the paper and fussy cut.  The gold vellum circles were left over from a previous project and matched perfectly with the gold circles in the photo.  I love the look of the bright red in the photo and at the top it has a chevron look so that is why I placed the red die cut border at the top.  I finished my card with a sentiment and some clear sequins.

I am also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge: April Showers/ Spring Flowers

All About That Washi...

Hello!  Today I am sharing a card on the Nani Ke Ola Blog that shows off the yumminess of Pinkfresh Studio's washi tape ( washi tape can totally be yummy, right?! )...

I really love the way the washi lines up so perfectly when laid side by side, don't you?  I then added some embellishments layered together and added the wood strip as my sentiment.  Finally the black enamels were added to "ground" my embellishment cluster and tie in with the black on the sentiment.

You Brighten My Day...

Hi, and Happy Monday!  I am popping in here to share a card that you can also find on The Alley Way Stamps Blog, that is just bound to make someone happy...

This little guy is from the new Phone Home Stamp Set... the little creatures in this set are so fun to play with!  I had fun stamping and fussy cutting him, coating him with glossy accents and them sticking some googly eyes on top hehehe!  Oh and I colored in his mouth a little too.  The sentiment comes from the More than Words Set.  These colors are not something I normally work with, but I LOVE it!  I usually go to pintrest for color mixing inspiration, but this time I was inspired by the colors in the paper pack itself! (Studio Calico)

Floral Birthday

Hello!  Today I'm popping in to share a card I had created for my Mom's Birthday... I really wanted to make something pretty for her...

I had so much fun watercoloring the rose images from Winnie & Walter with distress markers and a brush!  I then die cut it with a circle and created a circle frame with MME patterned paper, accetate and sequins.  I then used more MME paper for the background and stamped my birthday sentiment.  Pssst - I also have a secret to share... this card actually has a boo boo on it... when I first stamped my sentiment it was in the lower left hand corner, and it was crooked... grrrr!  I couldn't fathom getting rid of the beautiful paper so I covered it up, by changing my card design, adding the gold leaves and a few sequins to the outside.

I am entering this into the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Challenge: April Showers Brings May Flowers
Gossip Column Challenge: Winnie & Walter Color Crushes... I used the fifth dress in the article with all of those luscious gold stripes as inspiration and the pinks and greens were also shown in the colors of the challenge.

3 Tags Made With Stencils

Hi!  Today I am sharing three simple and pretty floral tags that I have made using the new SweetStamps.com Stencils on the SweetStamps.com Blog...

Supplies Used:
Art Stencil SPRING FLORALS 6x6 as66000
 Distress INK PAD MINIS
Shades™ Ink Spots EARTHY
 Shades™ Ink Spots PRIMARIES
Wink of Stella Brush Marker CLEAR
Framed Handwritten Words Clear Stamp Set SS4406

Aren't they so pretty?!  And super easy to make too! Double Score!  As soon as I saw the Floral Stencil at SweetStamps.com I couldn't wait to get inky with it!  For these tags all I did was go over the flowers one at a time with Distress inks and a sponge.  I then went over them with some Copics for more shading and then I colored with my Spica Pen to add some sparkle!  Next I stamped the sentiments and finally paced them through my die cutter to create tags!

I am adding these to the following challenges:
Party Time Tuesdays: Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp Challenge: April Showers/Spring Flowers

And these would also work in the SweetStamps.com Challenge: Flowers that is going on through Sunday!  All supplies are welcome!

Happy Crafting!
