DCWV/Pink & Main Blog Hop

Hello most wonderful crafty friends!!!  I'm so excited to be taking part in this hop today, and I can't wait to share the little Thanksgiving card and table card I've created with my awesome DCWV Leaves Stack and some super cute Pink & Main Stamps and dies! ekkkk!!!

Aren't they just so much fun?  This matching card set was so fun and easy to create!  Below I share how these two projects came together...

To create the card I started by stamping the fox onto a piece of patterned paper and then used my Prismacolor Pencils to add more colors and detail to the image.  I have never really used coloring when stamping on patterned paper, but I'm totally loving it!  I then die cut him out with the matching dies and propped him onto a vellum circle with foam adhesive before adding him to my patterned paper background.  I love the mix of the light and dark colors in the Autumn Leaves Stack as well as the shine of the Rose Gold Foil!

For the table card I used the same technique as above by stamping the bear onto patterned paper and coloring it in with my Prismacolor Pencils before using the matching die cuts to cut her out.  I then folded a piece of white cardstock from the Natural Cardstock Stack, added a strip of patterned paper along the bottom and die cut a few feathers from the Autumn Leaves Stack.  I then stamped my sentiment in the upper left corner and adhered the bear with some foam adhesive.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and make sure you check out the DCWV blog as well as the Pink & Main Blog for more details and giveaway information!!!

Sparkly Season's Greetings

Hello, hello!  I am so excited to share this pretty and super sparkly card here and on the Mint Owl Studio Blog today.  I used the new Cardinal Greetings Stamp Set, and I love the classic winter designs in this set.  Let's check out the card...

Isn't it so pretty?! yay!  I love the super bright and sparkly background!  This was one of those cards where I had the idea in my head, but I wasn't sure if it would turn out the way I had envisioned, but it did!

To create this card I started with an oval frame diecut out of the middle of my card front.  I then stamped my bird and tree image onto separate Neenah White Card stock, colored them in with my Copics and white gel pen, and trimmed them out.  These were set to the side while I cut a piece of acetate slightly larger than the oval window and adhered double sided tape to cover the entire piece of acetate.  This too was set to the side while I adhered the tree branch to the backside of the oval, and the bird onto the front side.  The adhesive covered acetate was then laid behind all of this covering the open "window", and then covered with Martha Stewart glitter.  At first I had contemplated using white glitter to give a snow effect, but I felt like it would blend too much into the cardbase and so I chose the blue to really give a pop, and it did!  I then finished the card by stamping the sentiment in a green ink and adhering some Pretty Pink Posh Sequins.

And I'm linking this up to the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge: Birds

STAMPlorations Reminder Challenge: Black

Hello!  It is time to share a little more inspiration for this month's STAMPlorations CAS Challenge with the color black as the twist.  I've created a very simple Christmas card this time...

(Oh, Christmas Tree! and Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies)

I apologize for the sentiment being so hard to read in my photos.  It looks beautiful in person, but I think the shine of the embossing powder made the words hard to read, so hopefully that second photo helps!  I love fun look of the trees in this stamp set and really love how easy this card would be to mass produce for the holidays.  To create this card I started with a black panel, embossed the tree image in 24K Gold Embossing Powder and die cut with the double running stitch.  I then embossed the sentiment with the same embossing powder but onto red card stock and trimmed it out before adhering it to the black panel with foam adhesive.

I can't wait to see what you will create for this challenge!

And a Happy New Year!

*This is post #2 for me today, please scroll down if you are looking for my CAS-ual Friday Post! Thank you!!!

Hello!!!  Today I'm sharing a pretty little Christmas card with you that uses the Cardinal Greetings Stamp Set by Mint Owl Studios.  Their new sets are a mix of snarky, sweet, and classic and I'm totally loving them...

To create this card I started by stamping the bough image all the way around a panel in various green inks.  I then went over the panel with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and die cut the bottom edge.  Next I die cut a star and stamped my sentiment in the center of it.  I finished it all off with some blue sequins.

This card was super easy and could be used for mass production purposes.  Feel free to share with us what you are creating with your Mint Owl Studio Goodies on any of our social media sights, or by tagging us on your own sites!

CAS-ual Fridays Final Release Day: Powerful Words

Here it is the final day of new releases for CAS-ual Fridays, and it has been awesome if I do say so myself hehehe!  Today we are sharing the Powerful Words Stamp set with all of you...  I decided to create something a little bit different to show how versatile these sets can be as well.  Since I've had Christmas on the brain lately, that's exactly what I went with...

To create this card I started by inking up one of my acrylic blocks with green and red ink, spritzing this with water and "smooshing" it onto the cardstock.  Once this was dry I stamped and embossed the sentiment in 24 K Gold Embossing Powder.  I then hand drew a frame around it and finished it off with some splattering of gold spray.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and don't forget to head over to the CAS-ual Fridays Blog for more inspiration and then to the store to grab this set for yourself!  Plus I have a discount code you won't want to miss using...

Autumn Layout with DCWV

*If you are looking for the CAS-ual Fridays Release Post please scroll down!  Thank you!

Hello!  Today I am sharing a layout I've created with the new 12 x 12" Autumn Leaves Stack found at your local JoAnns Store on the DCWV blog and here.  Let me just say that this stack is gorgeous with rose gold foiling throughout and the rich Autumn colors, love it!!!

After layering the patterned paper the way I wanted it I used a a mix of punches and leaf dies to create the embellishments on my page.  The journaling area was hand cut from the journal cards found in the stack.

This layout was created based on the newest sketch found on the Creative Scrappers Challenge Blog:

CAS-ual Fridays Release Day 2: Be

Hello!  Welcome to Day 2 of the CAS-ual Fridays' Stamp Release for the Callin' All Sistahs Collection, yay!!!!  This new set is called Be and it has some awesome sentiments as well as a few beautiful butterfly images.

Isn't this sentiment just awesome?!  And it can be used for many uplifting occasions.  To create this postcard I started by stamping the 3 side butterfly images in antique linen distress ink and then I used other pink distress ink colors to water paint  over top of the images so that they appear to be done free handed.  While these dried I stamped the sentiment in a dark brown ink and went over the front corners with distress ink in scattered straw.  I finished the post card by stamping more butterfly images in the same scattered straw ink.

Make sure you stop by the CAS-ual Friday Stamps Blog for more inspiration, and you can purchase the Be stamp set as of today! YAY!!!  And it gets better, because I have a discount code for you to use too!

Callin' All Sistahs Blog Hop Time!!!

Hello!  Welcome to this month's Callin' All Sistahs Blog Hop where we are sending encouraging vibes to all of those who need it.  And here is the card I've created to share...

To create this card I started by stamping the trunks of the trees with a Rose Gold ink and the leaves in a Neon Ombre ink.  I then stamped the leaves once each side of the original stamped leaves without re-inking to create some fullness to the trees without overpowering the card.  I then stamped my sentiment in a dark brown ink.  All of these are found in the Calm and Gentle Stamp Set.  I went over the edges with a distress tool and layered it onto several sheets of patterned paper at an angle.  The card was then finished with a twine bow and sequins in matching pinks.

Some things to consider while hopping... make sure to perform your self check while hopping or after.  These are important ladies!  Early detection is key.  Also keep in mind that  50% of the profits from the special Calling All Sistahs Collection are donated to Nationalbreastcancer.org .  Plus I have a discount code you can use to save a little money too.  And one more thing, starting this week Michele at CAS-ual Fridays is releasing some new stamps for this collection so make sure you are stopping by the blog daily for inspiration and set reveals!

MarkerPop Challenge #106

Hello!  Today starts a new challenge on the MarkerPop Blog!  Make sure you get your creations in for a chance to win some crafting goodies!!! woot woot!  Take a peek at the beautiful inspirational photo too...

And here is my take on this challenge...

I created this super cute and spooky scene with the Lawn Fawn Spooktacular Stamp Set.  I started by diecutting the circle in my patterned paper from the Lawn Fawn Polka in the Dark paper pad.  I then used the cut out as a stencil to draw the circle onto the cardbase so I would know where to create my background.  I used various distress inks in the center of that circle and stamped some little stars in white pigment ink.  While this dried I worked on the shaker part by adding acetate to my patterned paper, foam adhesive and sequins by Pretty Pink Posh, and layered it all together.  I then stamped and colored my images on Neenah solar white card stock. The sentiment was stamped on the same cardstock trimmed on one edge and stapled to the card front.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I can't wait to see what you will make for this challenge!

Hello!  I am up on the Mint Owl Studio Blog today sharing a bright and yummy Birthday Card...

To create this card I started by stamping and masking the donut and cupcake images from the Sweet Treats Stamp Set and coloring them in with Copic Markers.  I added the sentiment from the new  Snarky Birthday Sentiments stamp set I then die cut the edge of this panel.  Next I used the Sprinkles Stencil on pink paper with white pigment ink.  I love the way this turned out!  Once everything was dry I layered my panels onto my card base, and finished it all off with a bow and some sequins.  I also used the Snarky Birthday Sentiments stamp set on the inside saying, " Treat Yo' Self" hehehe!  Love it!

Thanks so much for stopping by and make sure you check out the Mint Owl Studio Blog and shop for more inspiration!

Must Love Snowflakes...

Hi there!  Today I am up on the CAS-ual Friday Blog sharing a soft pink snowflake scene created with the Must Love Snowflakes Stamp Set...

I love how soft this card looks!  To create this card I started by stamping and heat embossing the snowflake images around the outside of the cardbase to form a frame of snow.  I then used a light pink ink to blend in towards the center.  The sentiment was then stamped with a grey ink in the center.  I finished it off with some twine, jingle bells and sequins.

I am entering this into the Simon Says Stamp: Resistable

DCWV/Chameleon Blog Hop!!!

Hello!  I am so excited to be hopping along sharing projects with DCWV and Chameleon products!  Make sure you stop by all of the blogs sharing for today for your chance to win some goodies!!!  (Find a list of participants here)

Today I am sharing a card and tag Thank you set that I have created with the DCWV Color and Create: Patterns and Prints Stack, the Gold Burlap Stack and my Chameleon Blue Tones Pack...

This was my first time trying the Chameleon Markers out and I have to say it was pretty fun.  I watch several videos, found on their website, to figure out how best to use these markers, but it was easy to learn.  I really loved the gradient effect I was able to create with each individual marker and decided to play on this technique for my projects.  For the card I started by coloring in my selected coloring page and then trimmed it into a 4 x 5 1/4" panel.  Next, I tied on some black twine and adhered this to some black cardstock before adding it to my cardbase.  I finished the card with some clear sequins.  For my tag I wanted more texture so I decided to cut my tag out of the Fold Burlap Stack.  It is hard to see the gold accents in the burlap in this photo, but in real life they are gorgeous!  This time I only colored select images from a coloring page and trimmed them out.  I then cut out a sentiment and adhered them all together.  To tie in with the card I used the gradient coloring technique again and finished this off with some black twine and clear sequins too.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and I hope I've inspired you with some new ways to mix and match Chameleon and DCWV products!!!

Happy... Watercoloring with a Stencil

Hello friends!  Today I have a card I have created for the STAMPlorations CAS Challenge: with a twist of Black this month...

( Crazy Double Running Stitch RectangleHappy Word DieLeaf Prints Stencil)

To create this card I started by adding black soot distress ink onto a panel of cardstock, making sure to always start on the same end and work my way up with the ink.  I then die cut the panel to adhere onto my cardbase.  Next I used the Leaf Prints stencil, distress markers, and water to watercolor the leaf images onto watercolor paper.  I love the results and I was able to mix and match colors on each image, score!  Finally, I ran the happy die through my cutter in black and used a white chalk marker along the edges of the letters to help the word pop off of the black background.  The colorful sequins were the perfect finish.

I am also linking this up to the Kat Scrappiness WCMD Challenge: Make a Card

I can't wait to see what you will create for this months challenge!  Remember all products are welcome, and you can find complete rules on how the challenge works over on the blog!
