MarkerPOP Watercolor Challenge and Giveaways

Happy Sunday!  I hope you are having a nice weekend so far.. our plans have changed due to the weather, but that didn't stop us from having fun :)  Anywho, today I'm popping in to share my take on the new MarkerPOP Challenge!  These challenges are posted bi-weekly, and this month we are focusing on watercolors.  So for this challenge we are asking you to create a floral watercolor project.  Here is my take on the challenge...

Watercoloring is one of my favorite mediums for adding color right now, so I had a blast creating this card.  It was so relaxing too!  First, I started by stamping my flower images onto watercolor cardstock with Versafine Ink.  I then hit the ink with clear embossing powder and a heat gun just to make sure everything was dry and ready for me to add my watercolors.  I should also mention that I stamped and embossed the largest flower onto a separate sheet of watercolor cardstock.  I then went in with my base pink layer and after each layer would dry I would add my next.  To finish the design off I used my Gansai Tambi Starry Colors Collection to add a shimmery shading around all of it.  Once everything was dry I popped the largest flower up with foam adhesive and added sequins to finish.

And here is a look at the inspiration photo for this challenge:

I hope you will play along as there are some awesome prizes up for grabs!  Also, there are other watercolor giveaways happening on the blog, so make sure you scroll through to get entered for those!

Happy Crafting!
Lisa
