STAMPlorations CAS Challenge Reminder

Hi!  Today I am over on the STAMPlorations Blog sharing another take on the recent CAS Challenge, which has the optional twist of using the color Silver...

I LOVE the sentiments from the Wonderful Life Stamp Set, and this is one of them.  I've actually made this card to go in one of my Daughter's lunches.  I enjoy sending handmade cards with her, and especially ones that help lift her up.  School can be such a hard place sometimes, and I think little reminders of being great can do more than one might realize.

To create my card I started my stamping and heat embossing the sentiment and stars across gray cardstock.  I then splashed a few drops of white mist over the entire panel.  Once everything was dry I adhered it to a strip of constellation patterned paper and finally onto my cardbase.

I hope you will join in the challenge this month, and remember all products are welcome!  Find full rules on the blog.

CAS-ual Friday's Special Blog Post

Hello, and woo hoo!!!  I am so excited for today as I am up on the CAS-ual Friday Stamps Blog with my Stamping Mentor... Virginia Lu!!!! EEEKKK!!!!  When I first discovered blogging I some how discovered Virginia's blog around the same time, and I've been amazed by her work every since.  Not only have I enjoyed learning and being inspired from and by her, she is also one of the kindest crafter around.  She has offered me advice, encouragement and kind words at times I'm sure she never even realized they were most needed.  So when Michele had the wonderful idea of having us invite crafting friends/idols to join us for a blog post I instantly thought of her... and she said yes!

For our post we decided to use the Puffy Heart Love and the Floating Stamp Sets, and the challenge of using the Emboss Resist Technique.  To see what we both have created you need to head over to the CAS-ual Friday Blog, but I can show you my card...

For my card I heat embossed my hot air balloon and the sentiment with white embossing powder.  For a two tone effect I heat embossed smaller heart images in a rose gold embossing powder.  I then used two different techniques for my emboss resist.  First, I tried watercoloring with my Spectrum Noir Aqua Pens and a water brush, but I felt like the colors I had laid on were too light and weren't helping the images stand out, so I went for option two.  I used a mix of various spray inks and a baby wipe, and rubber the inks across the front of the panel.  This added the more vibrant colors to my background, and really helped the whole thing pop.  Once the panel was completely dry I adhered it to a mat of gold foil cardstock and finally onto my cardbase.  While the Spectrum Noir Markers ended up being covered up I still loved the shimmer they left over the entire front of my card.

I hope you'll get a second to check out both of our cards over on their blog today, and thank you so much for visiting me!

And here is a special savings just for my readers...

You Are Koalafied...

Hi!  I'm excited to be sharing my first post on the Crafty Chick Doodle Blog today, yay!  I decided to play with the super cute Koalafied Stamp Set by Gerda Steiner Designs, and I've made a super fun and bright card to cheer anyone up...

To create my card I started by adding some fun panels of patterned paper, and a diecut circle strip from MFT Blueprints 31.  Next, I stamped and colored in the adorable Koala and sentiments from the Koalafied Stamp Set.  I decided to pop the Hug sentiment up with some foam adhesive, and ta-da!

I hope you'll get a chance to pop by and check Crafty Doodle Chick out, this is a new crafting store that is going to start offering more and more goodies as time goes on, and we love to support our little stores here in the crafting community so give them a chance!  The shipping rates are awesome too by the way!  And I have a code for you to use until 1-14-18  to get 10% off of your order!  Psssttt - new MFT goodies are in the shop now...

Thanks...

Hi!  I'm popping in to play with a few challenges, yay!!!    I was excited to see Laurel Seabrook was back to crafting, and when I saw she had a challenge too I had to join in!  Such a beautiful inspiration picture too...

And I was also inspired by the Cupcake Inspirations challenge #437:

To create this...

To create my card I wanted to go very clean and simple, and I really love the blue and white combo, so I started with Winter Sky Cardstock by AMuse Studio as my cardbase.  I then added a strip of white embossed cardstock scrap that I had in my drawer and adhered it to the center.  For snowflakes I diecut both sizes from DCWV Glitter cardstock and layered them together.  The sentiment is by Lawn Fawn, and while I cut this also from white, I felt like there was enough of a difference between this and the embossed cardstock that it didn't need anything between the two.  To finish the whole card off I add some gorgeous Iridescent Clear Crystals from Studio Katia.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today and I hope I've inspired you to join in some challenges too!

Final CAS-ual Friday's Release Post

And we did it folks!  We have made it to the final day of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Release week!  What an awesome way to start off the New Year, don't you think?  Today's post is all about heart... no, I mean it literally... the set is called Heart to Heart!  This set is beautiful, perfect for Valentines or love projects, as well as makes great backgrounds...

To create my card I went very simple by stamping the Heart to Heart Stamp Set onto patterned paper and added Perfect Pearls in Gold in each circle opening.  While this dried I stamped my sentiment from the Heartfelt Sayings Set onto different patterned paper and trimmed it to fit the front of my card.

Make sure you pop by the CAS-ual Friday Blog for more inspiration with this beautiful set!  And remember that all of the new goodies are available now for purchase...

STAMPlorations First 2018 CAS Challenge

Hello for a second time today!  If you are looking for my CAS-ual Friday Release post make sure you click back to my post earlier this morning :)  Now I'm popping in with my take on the first STAMPlorations CAS Challenge of 2018! Woot woot!  And we are challenging you to use the optional twist of the color silver in your projects...

(Using CutPloration Be Kind Phrase Die and Fearless Word DieSTAMPlorations Bloomtangled ATC #3)

I had fun combing two different word dies to create my sentiment for this card.  Since they were both in a script font it worked out well and still had a cohesive feel.  I colored my bloomtangled image in with Spectrum Noir ColourBlend Colored Pencils for a softer look, while still maintaining their bright color.  I finished my card off with a few clear gems and by distressing my edges.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today!  I hope to see your projects in our newest challenge soon!

CAS-ual Fridays Release Day 5

Today's sneak peek shows a softer side of the CAS-ual Friday Stamps, and I love the large and scripty sentiment that is the focal point to my card...

The Peace and Comfort set also has several floral images that work with the sentiment.  I also love the openings in the script of this sentiment.  After I stamped the sentiment onto watercolor patterned paper I colored in the open areas with a purple sparkle pen.  I added one flower and a few leaf images to the corner of my card, along with white die cuts from the older set: CAS-ual Trees.

You can hop over to the CAS-ual Fridays Blog for more inspiration with this new set.  And don't forget these products are all available in the shop now! YAY!!!!  And I have one more thing to share with you...

CAS-ual Fridays Day 4 Release

It's Day 4 of the new CAS-ual Fridays Release, which means only 2 more sleeps left!!!  Today's card shows the new set called Supercalifragilistic... and it is full of fun encouraging sentiments like the one I've used...

I love that the sentiment is uplifting, while also having a fun side to it.  For my card I used the emboss resist technique with white embossing powder and Distress Oxide Inks.  I then added a few splashes of water to the background and let it dry.  Finally, I adhered the gems and the panel onto the cardbase.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Make sure you check out the CAS-ual Friday Blog for lots of inspiration and a better look at this new set!

Oh, and if you can't wait to grab these goodies for yourself I'd be tickled pink if you'd use my coupon code to save you 15% off your total purchase...
